INTERNATIONAL

Ambassadorial Scholarship
     To identify outstanding college students in or from the community for the purpose of recommending them to the District as a potential recipient of a Rotary Foundation Scholarship.

Group Study Exchange
     Assist in selecting a group from our District to participate in international exchanges for the purpose of promoting world understanding, friendship, education, and to host those study groups from other countries who come to visit in our District.  In recent years the Cadillac Rotary club has hosted groups from Scotland, Turkey, Thailand, and the Phillipines.  A Cadillac Rotarian was the group leader for a group traveling to Scotland.  Other Cadillac community members have traveled to Turkey with the District 6290 Group Study Exchange.

Rotary International Foundation
     Promote the Rotary Foundation, plans Club activities for Rotary Foundation Month and work to plan fundraising activities for the Foundation.

World Community Service
     To cooperate with Rotarians abroad in world community service projects and otherwise promote world understanding.  The Rotary Club of Cadillac has been involved in many international projects:

  • Clean Drinking Water Programs
  • Polio Eradication
  • Medical programs in Africa (Nigeria / Ghana) & Dominican Republic
  • College Education Programs in Lithuania
  • Literacy Project in the Dominican Republic
  • AIDS Orphanage project in the Dominican Republic
  • Wheelchair distribution in the Dominican Republic
  • Education Building Renovation in the Ukaine


Youth Exchange

     Identify high school students for recommended international outbound educational exchange placement. Recruit host families for in-bound exchange placements from other countries. Also facilitates the short-term Summer exchange programs and related conferences for exchange students.  The Rotary Club of Cadillac is currently hosting two exchange students, one from Greenland and the other from Australia.  The club has four Cadillac High School students on exchange in Turkey, Belguim, Germany and Japan.

Life Leadership
     Develop and implement a plan for interviewing and selecting candidates to send to the annual Life Leadership Conference.  The three day conference is held annually in June at Kettunen Center for 11th and 12th grade students.
