The Cadillac Rotary Club will host its 10th Annual Stride For Strive 5K Race on Memorial Day hosting over 800 athletes. Over 300 ‘Strive’ participants, joined by over 500 ‘Girls on the Run ’ participants, raced on foot running or walking from the Carl T. Johnson Center along the northern shoreline of Lake Cadillac to the finish line at the Rotary Performing Arts Pavilion near downtown Cadillac.
“What a great day! It’s awesome to see the community support these mentoring programs,” says Rotarian Judge Dave Hogg, 2007 Stride for Strive Committee Co-Chair, “I am humbled daily by the willingness of our members and the community to go the extra mile and truly live the Rotary Four Way Test.”
Through collaborative efforts by Cadillac Rotarians and other community members the Cadillac event is the second largest ‘Girls on the Run ’ event in the Nation. For more information go to www.girlsontherun.org.
The Stride for Strive Race was originally developed by Rotary District 6600 in Minnesota to support their Strive Scholarships. The Cadillac Rotary Club was very grateful in 2006 and 2007 to have an increase of over 100 participants through an increase in local publicity for the event and program.
